Barbara L. Webster

Barbara was born in the Kensington section of Philadelphia and attended Frankford Highschool. Throughout her working life she held many jobs in the banking industry but the one she was most proud of was being a fraud investigator. Her hobbies included bowling and going to the casinos but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Billy Webster; and her parents, Robert and Doris Gurt. Barbara is survived by her children, Michael (Denise) Bergen and Lisa (Brian) Patterson; her grandchildren Brianna, Rachael, Kerigan, Julia and Luke; also survived by her sister, Judy, stepdaughters, Denise and Donna and many nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 9:30 – 11:00AM at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave. Brookhaven PA. followed by her funeral service at 11:00AM.

Francis P. Chiponis

Francis Paul Chiponis, age 90, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024, at home on hospice care after a 2-year struggle with chronic heart disease. He was born on June 26,1933 in Chester, PA and was a resident of Brookhaven for 66 years. Chip graduated from Saint James High School in 1951.

Richard Torres, Jr.

Richard Torres, Jr. age 65, passed away peacefully and went  home with the Lord on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. He was born June 1st, 1958, in Chester, Pa. and was a longtime resident of Brookhaven. Rich was employed by Taylor Hospital for eight years in Ridley Park and was also a talented disc jockey. He enjoyed music, drawing, The Phillies, and was a truck enthusiast.

Kathryn “Katie” Scott

Kathryn “Katie” Scott (Detwiler), 65, passed away April 1, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family after a 5-year battle with breast cancer. Katie was born on December 19, 1958. She was a lifetime resident of Brookhaven and graduated from Sun Valley High School in 1976. Katie worked various jobs throughout her life, but her longest employment was at Crozer Chester Medical Center working as a lab technician.

Nicholas F. Simkiss

Nicholas F. Simkiss, 56, passed away peacefully at his home on March 20, 2024. He was a lifelong resident of Aston and graduated from Sun Valley High School, class of 1986. He studied music at West Chester University. He was an auto mechanic for many years at the Aston Gulf. Nick had an extreme love for music and was a member of multiple bands as the lead guitarist, one of them being the Reservoir Dogs. He was also an avid remote-control airplane and helicopter hobbyist.

Her mother used to say she was so small “you used to have to shake the sheets to find her.” She attended John Marshall High School in Richmond, Va., where she was a straight A student and a member of most of the high school clubs.

Lillian M. Clark, 70, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2024, at her home. Born and raised in Trainer, PA, she has been a resident of Brookhaven, PA, since 2001. For over 30 years, she worked for Flextron Industries until her retirement. She was also very active in the Brookhaven and Aston Senior’s Groups.

Edward A. Capper

Edward A. Capper, age 59, passed away at home on February 6, 2024. Edward grew up in Toby Farms, attended Our Lady of Charity, and graduated from Saint James High School in 1983 where he was a gifted artist and received several awards. After high school, he was a longtime manager on the elite Philadelphia restaurant scene. Edward was a kind, and gentle person who had a lot friends and family who will dearly miss him.
