My condolences to the entire Simkiss Family! I was fortunate enough to be one of Nick’s teachers! He was a great kid to have in your classroom and he was one of my best ever! In Nicks obituary I also just found out that brother ,Steve, has also has passed away! In my book he was another great Simkiss! May the perpetual light shine upon both of their souls! Also, at this very tough time I hope that pleasant thoughts of both of them will lessen your sadness!

I’ve known Nick for many years and have many fond memories of him- from playing the Sun Valley Variety Show back in 1986 with him to “sitting in” many times during one of his gigs or just playing guitar with him once in awhile. I will miss his positivity, talent and his love of music. He took his guitar-playing very seriously- a trait I especially admired in him. I will surely miss you my friend. My sincerest condolences to his family.

I will always be grateful to Nick for helping get me started in music performance, he used to let our bands open up for his bands, but most importantly for his friendship over the years. He was always cheerful and truly one of the good guys. He will be missed.

God bless, Nick. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends. We worked together for many years at the Gulf station. Always enjoyed when you brought in your planes or guitars. We had some good times.

I was very sad when I heard about Nick. Our cool “gang” had some fun times together after graduation. We used to love watching his band jam! He was a great guitarist and he truly loved music. I will never forget Havok! Here and there over the years I would run into Nick in the neighborhood and he always asked how me and Scott and my boys were doing. My sympathies to his family and friends and bandmates.

Oh Nicholas, I don’t and wouldn’t even know where to begin! Even though our relationship together romantically didn’t work out in the beginning, I feel we never would’ve had the chance to reconnect years later which made our bond stronger. I’m so unexplainably and beyond heartbroken without you! We became the bestest friends ever, saw each other everyday, no matter what we faced we both had each others backs!! You were and ARE loved by many! Your talent with playing guitar was impossible for me to express and describe even now! If anyone deserved to live on the road rocking out on stage, it definitely was you! I knew we had a connection and bond that people envied, which I was thankful for, I knew we were on the right path when you drove all the way down to see me in North Carolina when training at Frosch. We had a great weekend and I cried when you left. I wish I could’ve had the chance to see you again, we were supposed to get together the day you passed, I was so excited about seeing my bestie after speaking with you everyday day and night, sometimes 3 to 4 times a day once you were feeling better, I thought you were going to bounce back and be the one to tell me, I told you I wasn’t going anywhere, like you have and did so many times before. Lastly, I was blessed to reconnect and so happily thankful we were able to be in each others lives everyday again for the last 12 years! I wish o knew there was a possibility this could happen, but knowing you for over 25 years, never thought this could happen!!! I wish I could’ve told you one last time how much I loved you and how grateful I was for having you in my life, I only wish I still could have you here in it. I hope you and my dad are the ones waiting for me when it’s my time. However, I’m sure it’ll feel like an eternity till then. Rest easy Nick, I love you more than a wife loves her husband, I never let you know that at times, however, thankful I did let you in and know in the end, it’s the little peace I’m having with losing you! I will carry you in my heart every day until I see you again!
