Joseph F. Gummel, 80, passed away June 13, 2010 at Taylor Hospice, Ridley Park, Pa.
Born in Mt. Carmel, Pa, he has been a long time resident of Wallingford, Pa.
He graduated from Nether Providence High School, Pa.
He was a paper maker for Scott Paper for 38 years before he retired.
He loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of St. Johns Chrysostom, Wallingford, Pa.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, serving in Korea and Japan,.
He was the beloved husband of Wilma Gummel for 57 years.
He was the son of the late Edna and Joseph Gummel; loving father of Michael Gummel of Parkside, Pa, and Mark Gummel of Jennersville, Pa, Janet MacCall of Woodlyn, Pa, and Jacqueline Gummel of Wallingford, Pa; brother of Marie Yerges of Geneva, IL.
He was the proud grandfather of 5.
Funeral service will be held Thursday 11am at St. Johns Chrysostom, 615 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford, Pa, 19086.
Visitation Wednesday evening 7-9 at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015 and also Thursday morning 10-11am at the church.
Interment SS Peter and Paul, Broomall, Pa, 19064.
