Howard W. Maier, 64, passed away Nov. 11,2012 at his home. Born in Upper Darby, Pa, he was a resident of Parkside, Pa, for the last 12 years and a lifelong resident of Delaware County. Howard was a 1966 graduate of Ridley Park High School. He worked for Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania in maintenance for 18 years before his illness. He loved to play golf and spend time with his family. He loved the beach and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. Above all else, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Howard was also a Vietnam Veteran of the US Army.
He was predeceased by his parents Charles David Maier and Elayne Clarke and his brother Charles D. Maier.
Howard is survived by his wife Rose Maier (Martinenza); his children Michele (Brian) Evans, Howard (Chrissie)Maier, William Maier; sister Leslieann (Vincent) Thomas ; 7 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandson.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday 11:30 am at St. Timothys Lutheran Church,535 Lamp Post Ln., Aston, Pa, 19014. Visitation Thursday 9-11am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Interment private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Crozer Hospice, CKHS, 5030 State Rd., Suite 3001, Drexel Hill, Pa, 19026 and/or Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS, 66675.
