Catherine Bynum, 94, passed away May 14, 2015 at her home. Born in Sackville, Pa, she has been a resident of Brookhaven, Pa, since 1945. She was a member of The First Church of God where she taught Sunday School. She was recognized for being a 50 year member and had a Sunday School room dedicated to her. Catherine enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening, and being with her family and loved ones. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Jasper; her parents Peter and Victoria Federchok; her grandson Brian Nixon; and 7 siblings.
She is survived by her son Mark Bynum (Bridget) and daughter Kathy Nixon (Kerwood); grandchildren Mark Nixon, Mark Jr., Joseph, Gregory, and Jeffrey Bynum; great grandchildren Robert and Andrew Nixon.
Funeral service Tuesday evening 8 pm at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Visitation Tuesday 6-8pm at the funeral home. Burial private.
