Zygmond Jablonski October 1, 1921 - May 11, 2014

Zygmond Jablonski, a Chester native and decorated Veteran of WWII passed away at home on May 11, 2014 with his family at his side. Mr. Jablonski was a Staff Sargent and member of the 84th Infantry Division honorably serving his country in the European Theatre.
After returning home to Chester, Zig married the former Josephine G. Buosante and went to work as a machinist at the BLH Locomotive Plant. In 1959 he opened Zig’s Radiator Shop, a family business located at 4th and Booth Sts. Mr. Jablonski was well known for his integrity in addition to being kind and friendly to all those that he did business with.
Zig was a dedicated family man, a true gentleman in every sense of the word and known in the family circle for his keen sense of humor. He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine; his parents Joseph and Julia; his brothers Alec, Joseph, Edward, and Chester; and his sisters Sophie, Kate, Helen, and Stella.
He is survived by his son Jerry (Moira); his sister Ida Seesock; his wife’s sisters Jenny, Philomena, Carol, Ann (Ernie), and Rosemary (Tom).
Funeral mass Thursday 10am at St. Hedwigs, 4th and Hayes Sts., Chester, Pa, 19013. Visitation Wednesday evening 7-9pm at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Pa, 19064. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Pennsylvania Veterans Museum, 12 E. State St., Media, Pa, 19063.
