Walter W. Ford, 91, passed away November 9, 2008 at Fair Acres Geriatric Center, Lima, Pa.
He was born in Bortandale, Pa, where he lived until moving to Brookhaven, Pa, 60 years ago.
He graduated from Media High School. He worked for General Steel for 27 years and retired from the Liquor Control Board after giving 20 years of service.
He was a member of Media Old Timers Hall of Fame for Football. He was an avid bowler at Conchester Lanes. He was a very loving and devoted father and grandfather. He was a WWII Army veteran. He was married to the late Evelyn Langley who passed away in 1969 and remarried the late Peggy Grant who passed away in 1989. He was the son of the late Andrew and Ethel Ford.
He was the loving father of Walter (Marcie) Ford of Media, Pa, and George (Janice) Ford of Brookhaven, Pa. He was the brother of the late Andrew and Wesley Ford. He was the proud grandfather of Evie, Mark, and Dave and the great grandfather of 8. The funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Friends may call 10-11 am at the funeral home.
