Thomas V. Bateman Jr., age 80, died March 25, 2006 at Crozer Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pa. Born in Darby, Pa. Resident of Woodlyn, Pa. since 1997, previous resident Chester, Pa. Life long resident of Delaware County. Graduate of Ridley Township High School and Columbia School of Finance. Employed with General Motors Co., in Newark, Delaware as a utility man in wich he retired after 30 years in 1980. Life member of VFW Post 1521 in Chester, Pa. Coached for many years with the former Chester West Little League. A veteran in the US Navy during WWII. While serving on the USS Menkor and USS Amsterdam he received the Victory Medal, Pacific Theater, and American Theatre Ribbon. Son of the late Thomas V. Sr. and Ella Magnin Bateman. Husband of the late Mary Miller Bateman. Brother of the late Jane Schultz. Husband of 10 years of Donna Jones Bateman of Woodlyn, Pa. Father of Thomas W. Bateman of Wallingford, Pa., Kathleen L. Ebling of Woodlyn, Pa. Sister of Dorothy Messick of Port Charlotte, Florida. Grandfather of 3, great grandfather of 2. Funeral service Wednesday 10:30 a.m. at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa. 19015 Interment Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, Pa.
