Rita Marie Bufano Culbert

Age 87

Grew up in Chester Pennsylvania, lived 60 years in Parkside Pennsylvania and has spent the last year and a half in Mineral Bluff Georgia.

Rita is a graduate of Smedley Junior High School, Chester High School Class of ’47 and Keystone Secretarial School.

She is retired from Metropolitan Life.

She was a 60 year member of Our Lady of Charity Catholic Church.

Where she was an active member of the Charitians. She loved traveling with her family, people watching, and reading good a book. She enjoyed going to daily mass with her Charitian friends and loved the occasional trip to the casino. Since she moved to Georgia, she became an active part of the Saint Anthony Parish family. She loved going to the Senior Center in Blue Ridge where she made many new friends and was even the “star” Alice, in the talent show competition play, “Alice in Wonderland”. But nothing made her happier than being with her family.

She is predeceased by her parents, Anna Tutelo Bufano and Andrew Bufano, her husband George Culbert and her sisters Vera Peeples and Jean Bratton.

She is survived by her sons, George Culbert (Cherie) of Lexington South Carolina and Bruce Culbert (Susan) of Mineral Bluff Georgia

Grandchildren Rayna Culbert, Lynzee Jones (Josh) Taryn Coleman (Matt), Caitlin Culbert and Michael Culbert (Tiffany)

Four great-grandchildren; great-grandsons, Colyn and Ayden and great granddaughters Emerson and Emery

Rita was a big supporter of The Wounded Warrior Project, her favorite charity.

Funeral mass Saturday 10:30 am at Our Lady of Charity Church, 231 Upland Rd., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Visitation Friday evening 6-8pm at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015 and also Saturday morning 9:30-10:30am at Our Lady of Charity Church.
