Reece T. Cobourn, 81,
passed away November 10, 2007 at his home in Brookhaven, Pa.
Born in Middletown Twp., Pa,
he resided in Brookhaven for the past 71 years. He grew up on the farm land that William Penn granted to the Cobourn family.
He ahs been a life long Delaware County, Pa. He was educated at the Nether Providence High School
He was employed with Sun Oil as a pipe fitter for 35 years where he retired in 1984. He attended Middletown Presbyterian Church, Middletown Twp.. He also belonged to VFW Post, 7060, Brookhaven, Sun Oil Sapphire Club, several bowling leagues, and loved gardening and playing golf.
He was a United States Army Sgt. in WWII. He served in Philippines and Korea.
He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Blackley Cobourn (Betty) for 57 years.
He was the father of Ronald Cobourn of Marcus Hook, Pa,
Reece T. Cobourn of North Wilmington, De, Janet L. Singer of Landsdowne, Pa. He was the
brother of George R. Cobourn of Brookhaven, Pa, and Elsie Yarnall Sexton of San Marcas, CA. He was the grandfather of 6.
Funeral service Thursday 12 pm at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Friends may call 10am-12 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
