Paul J. Shanahan, 75, passed away August 5, 2009 at his home.
Born in Norwood, Pa, he has been a resident of Parkside, Pa, for the past 45 years. He attended St. James High School.
He worked for Phoenix Steel as a Foreman, Claymont, De, for 33 years and retired from Crozer Chester Medical Center as a security guard after nine years of service. He was an avid Phillies fan and loved going to Florida to watch them during Spring Training.
He was the husband of the late Helen (nee Smedley) Shanahan for 40 years. He was the loving father of Paul Shanahan of Coatesville, Pa, Daniel Shanahan of Aston, Pa, Robert Shanahan of Kernersville, NC, Richard Shanahan of Folsom, Pa, Thomas Shanahan of Brookhaven, Pa, and
Helen States of Brookhaven, Pa. He was the brother of Tim Shanahan of Springfield, Pa,
Catherine Smitheman of Broomall, Pa, Dorothy Bierman of Norwood, Pa, Sister Catherine Shanahan of Staten Island, NY, Joan Shanahan of Essington, Pa. He was predeceased by 8 siblings.
He was the grandfather of 10 and the great grandfather of 2.
