John A. Paddock Sr. November 25, 1925 - August 26, 2011

John A. Paddock Sr., 85, passed away August 26, 2011 at Crozer Chester Medical Center, Upland, Pa. Born in Plymouth, Pa, he has been a resident of Brookhaven, Pa, since 1971. Prior to moving to Brookhaven he was a resident of Chester. He worked for Linde Air division of Union Carbide in Essington for 29 years before his retirement. He loved baseball, football, and fishing but enjoyed nothing more then spending time with his grandkids. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Navy where he served in the Philippines and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was the husband of the late Cora Paddock; son of the late Helen and John Paddock; and brother of the late Roberta Lajca. He is survived by his children John A. (Joanne) Paddock of Oxford, Pa, and Marcia A. Paddock of Brookhaven, Pa; his sister Ruth Minka of Brookhaven, Pa; and his grandchildren Staci Ferrario, Shannon Paddock, and Jessica Tarter; 4 great grandchildren. Funeral service Tuesday 11am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave, Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Visitation Tuesday 10-11 at the funeral home. Interment SS Peter and Paul, Springfield, Pa.
