Gladys E. Smedley, 87,

passed away August 15, 2008 at Fair Acres Geriatric Center, Middletown Twp. Born in Philadelphia, Pa, she was a

resident of Parkside, Pa for 57 years. She was a Key Punch operator for State Farm Insurance Com. Where she retired in 1984.

She was the beloved wife of the late George Smedley for 56 years who passed away in 2003.

She was the daughter of the late Witt and Edna Hines. She was the devoted mother of George Smedley (Denise Kandravi) of Wilmington, De, Nancy Fahey (John) of West Chester, Pa, Sara Laucius (Richard) of Boothwyn, Pa, and Helen Smedley of Parkside, Pa

She was the proud grandmother of Jennifer McCarthy, Lori Butakis, and Joseph and Joshua of Laucius, and great grandmother of Xander McCarthy. She was also survived by nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family.
