It is with our deepest sorrow, that we announce the sudden and untimely passing of Duane Bartholomew Peter on August 18, 2022, at the age of 50.
Duane held many titles within our family to include that of beloved son, father, brother, nephew, and friend.
Duane was a native son of Saint Lucia, born in Castries to Anthony and Mary Peter on August 24, 1971. He is survived by his, loving family Manuela, and his children Amera, Anthony and Adrienna, his Mother – Mary, Father – Anthony, Brothers – Dwight, Dave, Dale, Devon, Delan, and Darrel, Uncle – Redis Daniel, Aunts – Marlyne and Marvis Daniel, 10 Nephews and 3 nieces and his Dog Vixen.
Everyone who knew Duane, knew that he was compassionate, sensitive, and a caring person. He believed in justice for the underprivileged and became a voice for them.
Duane was ahead of time; his perception and philosophy of life demonstrate his intelligence and creativity. His Perseverance and tenacity encouraged him to never give up until he got the job done.
His ultimate goal was to do whatever it takes to help his family and make sure everyone was comfortable. Duane was a protector.
Duane’s LOVE for his family was pure and simple; he loved us all as we are.
As the representative color green, he had an astonishing brilliance and a ubiquitous presence, impacting every life he touched with his brilliant mind.
Duane, we love you and you will always be in your heart forever.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 9:30-10:45 a.m., with a service following at 11 a.m., on Thursday, September 1st at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven. Burial will be in Chester Rural Cemetery.

August 29, 2022 at 9:18 pmLet me start by sending my condolences to your children and your family. Emperor you are going to be greatly missed. We learned so much from you. You always told me never to give up and I didn’t. You were always trying to help others. If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t know a lot of things I know today. I can still hear you laughing about Queen Nanny inventing the camouflage uniform. you taught me about the TAINOS heritage. Man, my heart is really crushed right now. Every time my husband and I look at your pictures we just feel deeply in some way. you were a good brother man. We All as a Nation is still in shock, We just keep looking at our phone because we keep waiting on your call. Our family is in shock! We will Always Love you because you are strong and taught us how to fight not with our fists but with THE PEN & THE PAPER!
PEACE & LOVE EMPEROR, ISLAM BROTHER WE WILL MEET AGAIN!!!!!!!

September 1, 2022 at 10:16 pmWords can’t express how I am feeling right now! My condolences to the family and friends that I was able to spend time with. Duane (Emperor) was very caring person. He always made sure everyone was straight. His role as the Man of the house , Big Brother , Father was most important to him and his faith. He was a GREAT TEACHER to many. Always willing to go beyond the call of duty. He was the founding father of our Nation.. I know that you will fight more from the other side for he is in Jannah. We as a Nation will, always cherish the ups and downs that is how we grow. You will always be deep in our hearts and we will hope to carry on your fighting spirit. Rest In Paradise H.I. M.
