Shirley Gilpin February 2, 1924 - January 12, 2012

Shirley Gilpin, 87, passed away on January 12, 2012 at Fair Acres Geriatric Center where she has resided for the last 18 months. She was a previous resident of Brookhaven, Pa, for 54 years. She worked at the Wilmington Trust Bank as a home equity loan collector. She was an active member of Our Lady of Charity Church for 54 years. She loved reading, traveling, and playing cards with her friends. She was the wife of the late E. Howard Gilpin Jr.; mother of Robert (Diane) Gilpin of Georgia and Rosemary Gilpin Shoop of Newark, De; sister of Marie Martin and Theresa Sweeney of Wilmington, De; grandmother of 6; great grandmother of 9; and great great grandmother of 4. Funeral service Saturday 10:30am at Our Lady of Charity Church, 231 Upland Rd., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Visitation Saturday 9:30-10:30am at the church. Interment private.
