Sara Meeder October 13, 1918 - March 15, 2011

Sara J. Meeder, 92, passed away on March 15, 2011, at Crozer Chester Medical Center due to complications from pneumonia. She was born in 1918 in Chester, Pa., to Dominick and Stella Siedzikowski. Sara attended Chester High School, leaving to work in a textile factory. She was married to the late Russell H. Meeder for 61 years and lived in Garden City/Wallingford for 65 years, where she was a wonderful mother and housewife. Sara was a member of St. Roberts and St. John Chrysostom parishes. For over 10 years she was a cashier at E.J. Korvette’s and later joined the Parkside, Upland, and Brookhaven senior citizens clubs. Sara did excellent crocheting, making many fine items, and she enjoyed going to the racetrack. Sara lived the last 5 years at Wallingford Nursing and Rehab.

Survivors: Sara is survived by her son James R. Meeder, daughters Jean I. Meeder and Lorraine J. DiVito, 2 granddaughters, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandsons, sister Stella Domalewski, brother Henry Siedzikowski, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Funeral Service: Friday 11am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015.

Visitation: Friday 10-11am at the funeral home

Interment: Burial is at Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, PA, following the funeral service.
