Ruth Blackburn, 86,

passed away August 21, 2009 at her son’s home. Born in Philadelphia, Pa she has been a life-long resident of Delaware County and a Chester resident for 66 years. She worked for Yorkshire Mills in Rockdale, Pa. She really enjoyed playing bingo at Parkside Fire House and Lady of Fatima. She was the wife of the late Howard C. Blackburn Sr.

She was the mother of Howard C. Blackburn Jr. of Nottingham, Pa, and George N. Blackburn of Evans, GA. She was the sister of the late Juny Marriott, Eleanor Logan, Abby Shaw, and Dorothy Doohan. She was the grandmother of 7 and the great grandmother of 12. Funeral Service Tuesday 11am at the Bateman Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Visitation Tuesday 9-11am at the funeral home.

Interment Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, Pa.
