Robert Dix February 19, 1953 - September 7, 2013

Robert (Bob) Bruce Dix, formerly of Brookhaven, PA, passed away on September 7, 2013, suddenly, at home in Burleson, TX.

He was born on February 19, 1953 in Chester, PA to the late Donald (Don) Dix and Mildred (Millie) Helen Blisard Dix. He grew up in Highland Gardens,Chester, PA and Dutton’s Mill, Brookhaven, PA and graduated from Sun Valley High School, Class of 1971.

Devoted son and brother, he is survived by his siblings,Elizabeth A. (Jay Larkin) Dix, Donald J.(Lynne) Dix, Michael J. (Michele) Dix and, Margaret H. (Robert) Yeagley. He was predeceased in death by his beloved father,Don and dear mother, Millie, his uncles: Bruce Blisard , James Blisard, Lewis Sparks and William Dix and his darling aunt, Adeline Dix.

He is survived by his loving aunt Ursula (Lewis) Sparks, cousin,Sharon (Steve) Walter, his aunts, Carol (Bruce) Blisard and Jackie Blisard, and ten nieces and nephews, Peter (Dana) Balandiak, Lisa (Bob) Jacob, Nicole (Mike)Stevens, Jennifer Dix, Lauren Dix, Joshua Dix, Katrina Dix, Cassandra Dix,Jason (Shana) Yeagley and Bryan Yeagley and two beloved dogs, Tucker and Trouble as well as many great- nephews, nieces, extended family members andmany dear and deeply loved friends.

In his early years he was a member of the Brookhaven Swim Club swim team as well as having worked as a life guard there. He was on the basketball team of Sun Valley Senior High with his lifelong friend, Pat McGinn, as well as many others. He also participated with the award winning Crusader’s Drum and Bugle Corps, both on horn and drum.

Bob moved to Arlington, TX to begin a business manufacturing Gypsum Reinforced fiberglass. He returned to Brookhaven for a short time and returned to Texas in 1994 to work for Casting Designs, Inc. as General Manager for nearly twenty years. He worked under Jerry Bransom and with Jerry’s son, Jay with whom he also shared an enjoyment for car racing. Jerry’s wife, Jeannie and the extended Bransom family loved Bob as a son and brother. He loved the Bransom’s, he loved Texas, and he loved working hard. He will be greatly missed.

A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday evening 6-9pm at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Funeral .Mass will be held Saturday 10am at St. Joe’s Roman Catholic Church, 3265 Concord Rd., Aston, Pa, 19014. Interment private.
