Richard E. McElwee Sr. May 23, 1935 - January 31, 2009

Richard E. McElwee Sr., age 73, died Jan.31, 2009 at Delaware Hospice in Milford, Delaware. Born in Linwood, Pa. Resident of Millsboro Delaware since 1992, Richard’s previous resident Parkside, Pa. for 30 years. A graduate of Eddystone High School in Eddystone, Pa. Employed at Scott paper as a machinist who reired in 1992 after 35 years. Richard also worked as a part time police officer for Parkside and Upland, Pa. Member of Parkside Fire Company, past chief, assistand chief,and enginerr for the fire company. Veteran of U.S.Navy serving during the Korean War. Son of the late Fred Sr. and Kathryn McElwee. Father of the late Richard E. McElwee Jr.. Brother of the late Fred Jr. and Edgar McElwee. Survived by his wife Doris Blizzard McElwee of 53 years of Millsboro, Delaware. Father of Patty Iannucci and son in law Sam Iannucci of Aston, Pa. Jeanie and son in law Mark Michels of Glen Mills, Pa. Brother of David McElwee and Kathryn McManiman. Grandfather of Sammy, Melissa, Michele, Marc, Maureen Iannucci and Laura Jean, Kevin, Great Grandfather of Timmy . Funeral service Thursday 12:30 p.m. at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa. 19015. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery, Aston, Pa.
