Maurice Patrick O’Connor March 13, 1924 - March 12, 2021

Maurice Patrick (Moss) O’Connor of Brookhaven, PA, son of John J. O’Connor and Anna M. (nee) Donnelly passed away peacefully on March 12, 2021 at the age of 96.

Moss attended and graduated Pennsylvania Military College, class of 1950. He was employed by Sun Oil Company for 38 years as a Purchasing Manager in Materials Management. Upon retirement in 1983, he was hired as a consultant for Sun for 13 years, both nationally and abroad.

A veteran of WWII, he enlisted in the navy and served aboard aircraft carriers in the South Pacific theater.

As a member of Our Lady of Charity Roman Catholic Church, Moss served as a lector, Eucharistic Minister and as a soloist in the church choir. With his beautiful tenor voice, he also sang in a number of parish plays and shows.

A devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather, he is predeceased by his dear son Patrick M. O’Connor (1981), a member of the U.S. Coast Guard, his daughter, Tracy M. O’Connor (2020), his granddaughter, Mia C. Palucci (2000) and his beloved wife, Winifred M. O’Connor (nee McGowan) to whom he was wed for 43 years until her death in December, 1993. He is survived by his daughters, Sally Anne Glaeser (Bill) of St. Augustine, FL, Meghan O’Connor (Joseph Paranac) of Montclair, NJ and Susan O’Connor (George Henderson) of Sea Bright, NJ, as well as his grandchildren, Nina Palucci and Gabriel Palucci.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Charity Church, 231 Upland Rd., Brookhaven, PA, 19015 on Thursday, March 18th. Visitation will be 10am – 11am at the church, followed by Mass at 11am. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. All are welcome.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Our Lady of Charity Roman Catholic Church, 231 Upland Road, Brookhaven, PA, 19015.
