Joseph P. Schum, 66, passed away January 17, 2010 at Crozer Chester Medical Center, Upland, Pa. Born in Philadelphia, Pa, he has resided in Upland, Pa for the last 14 years.
He previously was residing in Brookhaven, Pa, and was a life long resident of Delaware County, Pa. He was a graduate of the St. James Class of 1962. He retired from Fomex in Eddystone as a machine operator after forty years of service.
He loved to fish and was devoted to his family.
He was a United States Navy veteran after giving 4 years of service.
He was the husband of Beth Schum for 17 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, the late Teresa L,. and Phillip Schwenger.
He was the father of Michael P. Schum of Delco, Pa, and Joseph Schum Jr. of Sarasota, Fl.
He was the brother of William Schwenger, Clifton Heights, Pa, Barbara McCloskey of Springfield, Pa, Helen Schwenger of Chester, Pa, Phyllis Schwenger of Springfield, Pa, Elizabeth Martin of Secane, Pa, and Carolyn Schwenger of North East Philadelphia, Pa.
He was the grandfather of 1.
Funeral service will be held Thursday 10am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015.
Visitation Thursday 9-10am at the funeral home.
Interment Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Anville, Pa.
