Joseph Ashbach, II, 88, passed away September 8, 2026, at Riddle Village, where he has resided for the last 9 years. Joseph was born and raised in southwest Philadelphia. He graduated from Bartrum High School in 1956. He served in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1966. He was the owner/operator of American Sheet Metal Works in Sharon Hill until his retirement in 2022.
Joseph loved vacationing in Wildwood Crest and enjoyed fishing. Joseph was an avid classic movie fan, enjoyed taking trips to Atlantic City, cheering for the Phillies, and listening to country western music. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family; especially his two granddaughters.
He was predeceased by his parents Helen and Joseph Ashbach, Sr.; his son Thomas; and his two sisters Helen McGoldrick and Elizabeth “Betty” Deacereto.Joseph is survived by his wife of 53 years Constance Ashbach; his beloved son Joseph, III (Karen); his brother Charles Ashbach (Kim); and his granddaughters Abigail and Madeline Ashbach.
Funeral service will be held on Monday (September 14, 2026) 11am with a viewing beginning at 10:00am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, PA, 19015. Burial SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA, 19064.
