John T. Hayes, 82, passed away December 14, 2013 at Crozer Chester Medical Center. Born December 10, 1931 in Ridley Park, Pa, he was a previous resident of Boothwyn, Pa, and has lived in Brookhaven, Pa, since 1998. He was a graduate of St. James High School, class of 1950. He had a 38 year career with Scott Paper as a paper maker where he met and married the love of his life, Doris J. Keeton.
He belonged to the Gun Club in Ephrata, Pa. He was a devoted member of Our Lady of Charity Parish, Brookhaven. He loved nothing more than spending time with his grandkids.
He was a US Marine Veteran who served in the Korean War.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Margaret Hayes.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Doris; his daughter Cindy Wesley; brother Robert Hayes; 2 grandkids Ben and Sam Wesley; extended children Mike and Dawn Wesley; brother and sister in laws Kay and Dick Masteller, Ray and Sherry Keeton, and Carolyn Keeton; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service Wednesday 10am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Visitation 9-10am at the funeral home. Interment Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, Pa. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Our Lady of Charity, 231 Upland Rd., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015.
