John Lewis Weare, III, 81, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2023 at the Wilmington VA Hospital. He has been a lifelong resident of Delaware County, most currently residing in Upland, PA. He attended St. James High School and Eddystone High School before enlisting in the army. John started to work as a carpenter and went on to work at several large apartment complexes in the area.
John was a veteran of the US Army and served in Korea. He belonged to both the Aston American Legion and the Marine Corps League in Upland.
John is predeceased by his parents John and Anna Weare and his siblings Jim Weare and Barbara Weare.
He is survived by his beloved spouse of 16 years, Fran Weare (nee Montieth); his children Cindy Weare, John Weare IV, and Nick Weare; his siblings Joe Weare and Debbie Campbell; and his grandchildren Ashley and Melissa Weare.
Memorial service will be held Saturday 11am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, PA, 19015. Visitation Saturday 9-11am at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately.
