Jeanette Lundberg Finley July 12, 1937 – September 26, 2019
Jeanette was born in Chester, PA and was a long-time resident of Collingdale, Pa. She graduated from Interboro High School in the class of 1957 and was a member of Kappa Beta Sigma Sorority from 1956 – 2019. She was a true friend to her sorority sisters. Jeanette retired from the Franklin Mint where she was a mail processor. She also enjoyed working at Brookhaven Deli. Her most recent home was in Cape May, NJ.
Jeanette is the daughter of Clara Siple Lundberg and Clarence Lundberg of Glenolden. She has five siblings: Barbara Bacon (Robert), David Lundberg (Barbara), Stephen Lundberg (Diane), Richard Lundberg (Carolyn) and Kenneth Lundberg (Barbara).
Following her own mother, Jeanette was a devoted and loving mom to her three children: Deborah Finley Smith (Thomas Smith), Dawn Finley Rineer (Lloyd Rineer) and Ronald Finley, Jr. (Mary Kay Finley). She was very proud of her family and was excited to become “Mom-Mom” to 6 grandchildren: Kevin (Alicia), Kyle, Maryam (Patrick), Sarah (Alex), Kimberly (Adam), and Kelly, 6 great grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 9 step-great grandchildren. Nieces, nephews and their spouses were also loved very dearly. She held a special place in her heart for David Weir and Mark Papineau.
Mom-Mom loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She would spend hours cooking and preparing. Her specialties were chocolate peanut butter fudge, chicken and dumplings and candied sweet potatoes. Mom-Mom wanted nothing more than to spend quality time with her family, whether it was down the shore, at Knoebel’s Amusement Park or especially Disney World. Mom-Mom was known for her feisty sense of humor, witty jokes and soft cheeks. Nothing was too sacred; she loved poking fun at everything. She loved the old black and white movies like The Magnificent Ambersons and loved dancing and singing to lots of fun music, including Hurricane Smith’s Oh Babe, What Would You Say. She enjoyed watching the Phillies, and in her
younger days could hit homeruns over the houses in her neighborhood. In a highly competitive home filled with athletes, she held the distinction of earning the biggest trophy of all for her bowling skills.
Her strength and courage were admirable throughout her life, and in her last hours she demonstrated what true love and compassion were as she accepted and embraced the family she loved so much. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life in a memorial gathering at Barnaby’s (2nd floor) in Aston, PA on Saturday October 12, from 1PM to 5PM.
