Helen Marie Simcox Shelton (nee Berry), 91, passed away July 26, 2017 at Riddle Memorial Hospital, Media, Pa. Born in Chester, she has been a lifelong resident of Delaware County, residing in Brookhaven since 1950. Helen graduated from Notre Dame, Moylan, class of 1943. She retired from Kmart (formerly Grant’s) after 20 years, and was an avid bowler in a league at the Conchester Lanes, as well as a member of the Brookhaven Women’s Club. She was also an active member of Our Lady of Charity where she belonged to the Charitians.
Helen was predeceased by her husband of 38 years Leonard H. Simcox, and her 2nd husband of 15 years Harold (Babe) Shelton; her daughters, Betsy Clark and Helen Delvecchio; 2 granddaughters, Anne Marie Passarini and Lisa Clark; and 4 sisters, Sara Plass, Marie Manerchia, Joanne Moyer, and Anita Berry.
She is survived by her loving children Leonard Simcox, Daniel Simcox (Jerilyn), Teri McFadden (Mike), Barbara Starr (Bruce), Sue Glass (Joe), Maureen Simcox, and Margie Smith (Bill); 20 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great- great grandchild, brothers, Paul & Joseph Berry, and sisters Catherine Bramble and Patricia McLaughlin.
Funeral Mass Monday 11am at Our Lady of Charity Church, 231 Upland Rd., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Visitation 9-11am at the church. Burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood, Pa.
