Gloria Mae (nee Bachman) Rivers, 88
Gloria passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, May 18 at the Crozer Keystone Hospice Residence. She was the beloved wife of Charles Rivers for 66 years. They started their romance at a USO Dance in her home town. Born in Bethlehem, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Dr. David Bachman and Mary Keredires. She was 19 years old when she graduated from Moravian College with a B.A. in Mathematics. Gloria was a devoted wife and mother. She took up golf at the age of 40 and she had 2 holes in one over her career at Rolling Green Golf Club. She was also a member of the Springfield Country Club for 18 years. Gloria enjoyed reading, bowling, and golf vacations. She was also a loving and generous “Nan” to her grandchildren. She is predeceased by her daughter, Pastor Carolyn Segich who passed away in 2010. In addition to her loving husband she is survived by her children Linda (Hugh) Haney of Swarthmore, Pa, and Debbie (Donato) Martino of Port St. Lucie, Fl; her sister Shirley Daley of Nazareth, Pa; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
