Gerald Shaffer, 83,
passed away May 22, 2010 at Crozer Chester Medical Center, Upland, Pa. Born in Collingdale, Pa, he resided in Chester, Pa, and was currently living in Brookhaven, Pa, for the past 25 years. He attended Springfield High School. He worked for Baldwin Locomotive Works in Eddystone, Pa, and retired from Eastern Flame Hardening in Eddystone as a welder after many years of service. He was an avid Phillies fan, loved Disney World, camping, gardening, and using his computer. Above all else he loved spending time with his family.
He served in the US Army during WWII.
He was the beloved husband of Anna Shaffer for 57 years; son of
the late Albert and Carrie Shaffer; loving father of Jerry Shaffer of Wilmington, De, Joseph Shaffer of Prospect Park, Pa,
Sue Crandley of Springfield, Pa, Cathy Shaffer of Prospect Park, Pa, and Patty Brida of Ridley Park, Pa; brother of Margie Lobb of Lima, Pa.
He was the grandfather of 8 and the great grandfather of 5.
Funeral service Wednesday 11am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015.
Visitation Wednesday 10-11am at the funeral home.
Interment Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, Pa.
