George Dwyer III September 6, 1949 - February 29, 2008

George (Tod) H. Dwyer III, 58,

passed away February 29, 2008 at Heartland Hospice in Wilmington, De. He was born in Philadelphia to June A. Dwyer and the late George H. Dwyer Jr. He was a resident of Chaddsford, Pa, but,

grew up in Parkside, Pa.

He graduated from Sun Valley High School in 1967 and then went to Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC where he graduated in 1971 with an AB degree in Physical Education. After graduation he joined the Air Force Reserves, going to Officers’ School and then Pilot Training.

He was involved in all kinds of sports and outdoor activities his entire life. He played football, baseball, and basketball at Sun Valley and division II football and baseball in college. In later years he loved to play golf, go deer hunting, and ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was devoted to his family, and enjoyed attending and helping with all of his son’s sporting events. He enjoyed traveling with his wife to many golf resorts and especially enjoyed sampling the cuisine and wines of the areas. He was a 25 year member of Concord Country Club and served as Vice President and Chairman of Admissions for 6 years. He was also a member of the CPCU Society of Philadelphia and Theta Chi National Fraternity. He kept in touch with his Theta Chi brothers throughout his life.

He was survived by his wife of 35 years, Monica White Dwyer of Chaddsford, Pa, his son George (Beau) H. Dwyer IV (Jillian) of Wilmington, DE, his mother June A. Dwyer of Brookhaven, Pa, his one sister, Lori D. Seamen of Raleigh, NC, his niece Lindsay S. Palese and nephew, George S. Seamen. Funeral Service will be held 2:30 Wednesday at Elam Methodist Church, 1073 Smithbridge Rd., Glen Mills, Pa, 19342. Friends may call Tuesday evening 7-9 at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015 and also Wednesday 1:30-2:30 at the church.

Interment is private.
