Gary L. Nygard, 67, passed away October 23, 2016 at Taylor Hospice, Ridley Park, PA. Born and raised in Upland, Pa, he has been a resident of Parkside for the last 12 years. He was a graduate of Ridley High School, class of 1969. He previously worked for Scott Paper and spent the last 14 years working for Eisco, New Jersey as an Environmental Safety Officer. He belonged to the Brookhaven Post American Legion. Gary was a talented musician who played numerous local coffee houses. He was also a United States Air Force Veteran. Above all else he loved spending time with his family and was an extremely devoted fiancé, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is predeceased by his parents Doris and John Nygard; his siblings Gregory Nygard and Joyce Andreoli.
He is surivived by his fiancé Diane Gallagher; his children Mark Nygard (Johanna), Christopher Nygard (Carly), Jennifer Kennedy (Rich), and Kelly Pekala (John); his siblings Jack Nygard (Josephine) Nygard, Judy Gannon (Leo), and Donna Price (Ron); brother in law Ray Andreoli; his beloved grandchildren Cece, Jaxon, Haylee, Declan, and one on the way; and his lots of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service Thursday evening 8pm at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Visitation Thursday 6-8pm at the funeral home. Burial private.
