Eleanor Frances Zygmunt July 29, 1934 - April 12, 2009

Eleanor F. Zygmunt, 74,

passed away April 12, 2009 at Crozer Chester Medical Center, Upland, Pa. Born in Dupont, Pa, she has been a resident of Brookhaven, Pa. She was a graduate and valedictorian of Dupont High School of Dupont, Pa, and of Scranton Lackawana Business College of Scranton, Pa.

She was the property secretary for the Girl Scouts of Delaware County, President of the P.T.L. of Coebourn Elementary, and served in many capacities of the school district and long range planning committee. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Federation of Women’s Club, served as Treasurer of the Brookhaven Women’s Club, and was a member of the Women’s Club of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. She continued to volunteer at her church, Our Lady of Charity, Brookhaven, and in the community until she became disabled. Eleanor was very proud of her Polish heritage and Catholic religion and she was a member of the Polish Union of the United States of America. Eleanor was proud of her children and grand children who were the pride and joy of her life. She was survived by her loving husband Joseph Anthony Zygmunt of 55 years, to whom she was devoted and grateful. She was the mother of Joseph A. Zygmunt of Durham, NC and Anthony Zygmunt (Lorna) of Schwenksville, Pa, Donna Schappell (Whip) of Allentown, Pa, and Andrea Boyce (Brian) of Langhorne, Pa. She was the proud grandmother of Ashley Schappell, Anthony Zygmunt Jr., Amanda and Isabel Zygmunt. All services are private for family only. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to Our Lady of Charity Church, 231 Upland Rd., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015.
