Donna Payne, 58, passed away November 15, 2008 at her home after a brief battle with lung cancer. Born in Thomasville, GA,
she currently lived in Brookhaven, Pa, with her daughter for the past 7 months. Prior to moving to Brookhaven she resided in Savannah, GA. She was employed with the Savannah Airport Commission as an internal auditor.
She was a member of the Association of Airport Internal Auditors and the Geechee Sale Club where she was the only female commodore in history.
She was survived by her mother, Nelma Walthall, and predeceased by her father James Walthall.
She was the loving mother of Laura Bienkowsi and her husband Rich, of Brookhaven, Pa with whom she resided. She was the sister of Linda Olson of Savannah, GA, and Judy Dawson of Woodstock, GA.
She was the grandmother of Kyla, Tyler, Noah, and Chloe Bienkowski of Brookhaven, Pa, with whom she resided. A funeral service will take place at a later date in Savannah, GA. Friends are invited to visit Thursday evening 6-9pm at 313 Melvin Dr., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Interment will be private.
