Cornelius “Neil” Gillespie October 6, 1931 - March 8, 2013

Cornelius “Neil” Gillespie, 81, passed away March 8, 2013 at Taylor Hospice, Ridley Park, Pa.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa, he lived the last two years at Chestnut Ridge, Chester, Pa. Prior to moving there he lived in Nalcrest, Fl, for 20 years and Oxford, Pa. He was a graduate of West Catholic High School, class of 1949. He was a post man for 30 years before his retirement. He was a member of St. Katherine Drexel Parish and the Milmont Republican Club. He enjoyed going to the casinos and playing golf but loved nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren. He was a US Marine veteran.
He was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Cornelius; his beloved wife Mary after 37 years of marriage; his sister Nancy Reilly; son in law James Quinn.
He is survived by his children Maureen Quinn, Cornelius M., Kevin (Debi); his stepchildren Patrick (Trish) Kelly, Charles Kelly, and Dennis (Jodie) Kelly; brother John (Rita) Gillespie; sister Margaret (Bill) Nell; brother in law Donald Reilly; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday March 16 12 noon at St. Katherine Drexel, 1920 Providence Ave., Chester, Pa, 19013. Visitation Saturday 11:30-12:00 at the church. Interment private @ Washington Crossing Cemetery, Newtown, Pa. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Taylor Hospice, 300 Johnson Ave., Ridley Park, Pa, 19078.
