C. Marshall Byre Jr., 91, passed away peacefully June 26, 2014 at his home. Born in Media, Pa, he has been a resident of Upland, Pa, for 60 years. He was a graduate of Nether Providence High School, class of 1942, and was very active in their alumni association and reunions. He worked the majority of his career for Cross and Son as a plumber and pipefitter. He was a member of the Masonic Concord Lodge. He was a WWII veteran of the US Navy where he served on the US Miles and survived a kamikaze attack. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Betty I. Byre; his parents C.M. Sr. and Julia Byre; his siblings Robert Byre and Dorothy Getz. Marshall will be sorely missed by his friends and family.
He is survived by his loving daughters Marsha Blacka (John) and Karen Beauchamp (Dennis) and his grandchildren Kimberly and Brandon Blacka and Lauren Beauchamp.
Funeral service Tuesday 12noon at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Visitation Tuesday 11am-12noon at the funeral home. Interment Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, Pa. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas, 66675.
