Velia Scamardella, age 63, of Brookhaven, Pa., passed away surrounded by her family on August 24, 2025. She was born in Monte di Procida, Italy and spent most of her life there.
She found joy in being at home, cooking, cleaning, and cherishing time with her family, but nothing brought her more happiness than being with her grandchildren. Velia was a funny lady known for her warm smile and laughter. Throughout her battle with cancer, she showed incredible strength and resilience, she was a true warrior to the very end.
She is predeceased by her parents and son, Vincenzo Iovine.
Velia is survived by her husband of 41 years, Antonio Iovine; son, Gennaro Iovine (Jackie Apelian); grandchildren, Giada, Natalia, and Melania; 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and many close friends.
Visitation: Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 10-11:00AM at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave. Brookhaven, PA.
Funeral Service: Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 11:00AM at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Pa.
