James A. White, 90, passed away on September 17, 2025, at Riddle Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, he resided in Drexel Hill until moving to Glen Mills 40 years ago. He was a graduate of Upper Darby High School. He served in the military during Vietnam as a US Army MP and then went on to work in law enforcement for 40 years; first for Upper Darby from 1955-1964 and then for Nether Providence until his retirement in 1996.
James was an avid hunter. He hunted throughout the United States and went on 5 safaris in Africa.
He was predeceased by his parents Jean and James White and his sister Lorraine Mullen.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Colleen White; his siblings Dorothy J. Giovanelli and Joey White; and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held Saturday (September 27, 2025) at 10:30am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, PA, 19015 with a viewing starting at 9:30am. Burial will be held at Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, PA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) and/or (www.cancer.org)
