Bruce A. Moffatt, aged 78, passed away peacefully in his home on January 22nd, 2026. Bruce was born in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania and was a graduate of Ridley Park Highschool (1965) and West Chester University (1969). He served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, during the Vietnam War. After that time, he met his beloved Mary, in Scotland. Him and Mary were both active members of the Holmes Presbyterian Church. Bruce had a passion for travel, camping, hiking and canoeing, some of his favorite locations being the
Appalachian trail, the Adirondacks and the New Jersey Pine Barrens. Bruce reveled in his role as a husband, father and grandfather. He also had a love for his father and wife’s homeland – Scotland. Bruce retired as a Vocational Counselor for the State of Pennsylvania and was able to spend more time doing the things he loved, including spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, William and Jane Napier Moffatt, and his wife of 44 years, Mary Moffatt. Bruce is survived by his son Thomas Moffatt, daughter Jean (Kevin) Bosshardt and grandchildren Charles and Simon Bosshardt. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday (January 30, 2026), at the Bateman-Allen Funeral home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, PA, 19015 at 11:00am with a visitation starting at 10am. Burial private. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Bruce’s name may be made to the Holmes Presbyterian Church, 375 Holmes Rd., Holmes, PA or to the Alzheimer’s Association of the Delaware Valley (https://www.alz.org).
