Charles A. Benedetto, Jr. December 18, 1937 - February 17, 2022

Charles A. Benedetto, Jr., age 84 of Brookhaven, previously of the Overbrook section of West Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2022.

He was born in Philadelphia and graduated from Overbrook High School. Charles worked as a photographer for the Philadelphia Police Department but he was most proud of being a photojournalist for the Philadelphia Bulletin.

He was a proud Air Force veteran, a very accomplished pianist, loved doing crossword puzzles, and playing pinochle, poker, and chess.

Charles was predeceased by his wife, Maureen A. (nee Healy) Benedetto, his parents, Charles and Florence (nee Perna) Benedetto, his brother, Anthony Benedetto, and his great grandson Steven.

His survivors include, 2 daughters, Jacqueline Hanstein and Christine Benedetto; brother, Albert Benedetto; grandchildren, Jamie (Kevin), Daniel (Jennifer), Christopher (Taylor), and Kelly (Jim); great grandchildren, Jacqueline, Kay-Lynn, Evangeline Paisley, Preston, Aydeen, and Leihum; also many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Thursday, February 24, 2022, from 9:30-10:45am at Our Lady of Charity Church, 231 Upland Rd., Brookhaven, PA, 19015 followed by his funeral mass at 11:00am.

Burial will be private.
