Hilda E. Borrelli

Hilda E. Borrelli, 97, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, in Wallingford, PA. Born in Elkton, MD, she moved to Pennsylvania in the hopeful years following WWII, settling in Chester. She quickly made her mark working in the post war industrial boom that engulfed the community.
During the post-war days, Hilda met the love of her life, Dominick, a meeting that would blossom into a lifetime of partnership and love. Together, they built a home in Brookhaven, PA, and raised their family.
Hilda was an avid traveler, exploring the beauty of the United States from coast to coast and venturing abroad to discover cultures and landscapes that fascinated her.
An accomplished crocheter, Hilda’s hands were rarely still. Her intricate afghans, scarves, and keepsakes were more than crafts, they were gifts of love. She also loved to dance, whether at a group outing with friends, a family wedding, a local event, or simply in the kitchen listening to her favorite tune. Hilda also had a deep love for cooking and entertaining. She took joy in preparing meals that brought everyone together, whether for a Sunday dinner, a holiday celebration, or one of the many lively parties she hosted over the years.
Hilda’s legacy is one of devotion, laughter, and compassion. She leaves behind a family that will forever be grateful for her love and wisdom. She will be deeply missed and joyfully remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Hilda is predeceased by her beloved husband Dominick Borrelli; her parents Luther and Hilda Downes; and her daughter Gloria Belas.
She is survived by her loving children Linda Genthert, David Borrelli, and Robert Borrelli (David Bialy); her grandchildren Daniel Genthert, Kristin Crawford, Stephanie Belas, and Matthew Borrelli; and her great grandchildren Gloria, Adalyn, Taylor, and Dominic.
Her funeral service will take place Monday 11am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, PA, 19015 with a visitation starting at 10am. Burial held privately at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. Online condolences can be sent via www.batemanallenfuneralhome.com
