“Big Ron”
Ronald Anthony Flagiello, age 77, of Newfield, NJ, formerly of Upper Darby, PA, peacefully passed away on August 25, 2026.
Ron grew up in Southwest Philadelphia and was a proud graduate of West Catholic’s Class of 1966. He worked for 29 years as a shipwright for the Philadelphia Navy Yard and proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Ron had many passions throughout his life. He was an avid coin investor and enjoyed fishing and drawing. A devoted Phillies and Eagles fan, he always enjoyed cheering on his favorite Philadelphia teams. Ron was also very proud of his Italian heritage, which he lovingly embraced through one of his greatest joys—cooking for family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Mary Flagiello
Ron is survived by his children, Ron Flagiello, Diana (Ray) Gaiser: stepchildren, Patrick Carr, and Michael (Miranda) Carr; grandchildren, Michael, Mason, Ava, Mia, Matthew, Mikayla, and Alina; brother, Charles Flagiello and best friend, George Carr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 from 11:00-11:45 at Church of the Nativity, 2677 Delsea Drive Franklinville NJ 08322 followed by his funeral mass at 12:00 noon.
Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA
