Mary Ann Breen

Mary Ann Breen, 86, passed away peacefully February 3, 2019 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born in Chester, PA, she was a long time resident of Parkside, PA, and spent the last 3 years at the Residence of Glen Riddle. Mary Ann was a graduate of Chester High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from West Chester College. She was a second grade teacher for 40 years, working at Main Street Elementary in Upland and retired from Coebourn Elementary after 25 years. She belonged to Brookhaven’s Women’s Club, Chester New Century Club, and the Parkside and Brookhaven Senior Citizens Clubs. She was also a long time active member of Our Lady of Charity Church where she sang in the choir. She volunteered as a tutor at Stetser Elementary for 8 years. She loved to travel and above all else, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Joseph J. Breen and her parents Mary and Leroy Grauel.
Mary Ann is survived by her children Joseph Breen, Jr. (Suzanne) and Debbie Mahoney (Kevin); her beloved grandchildren Laura, Kaitlyn, Kevin Jr., Amanda, and Joseph III; and her great grandchildren Joseph and Alexander.
Funeral service will be held Thursday 11am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, PA, 19015. Visitation Thursday 10-11am at the funeral home. Burial SS Peter and Paul, Springfield, PA. Online condolences can be sent via www.batemanallenfuneralhome.com
