Margaret Ruth Ford

Margaret Ruth Ford, 86, passed away peacefully October 14, 2017 at Wallingford Nursing Home. Born in Philadelphia she was a resident of Parkside since 1958 until moving to Wallingford 7 years ago. She was a graduate of Hallahan High School in Philadelphia and went on to work for Widener University for 20 years. Margaret was a life time member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the Parkside Fire Company. She was an active member of Our Lady of Charity Church and was involved with the CYO. She loved being surrounded with family, cooking and baking for everyone. She was an extremely social woman who took her dogs on daily walks and loved chatting with all of her neighbors. She also loved the beach and watching the Mummer’s Parade. She is predeceased by her parents Anna and John Alsankas.

She is survived by her beloved husband, William Ford whom she wed in February of 1958. She is the mother of William Ford, Phillip Ford, and Catherine (Robert) Powers; sister of Anna (late Vito) Morkunas; and her grandchildren Christina, Billy, Audrey, Carolyn, Ryan, Johnathan, Christopher, Robbie, Sarah, and Brett.

Funeral mass Thursday 11am at Our Lady of Charity Church, 231 Upland Rd., Brookhaven, PA, 19015. Visitation Thursday 9:30-11at the church. Burial SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. Online condolences can be sent via www.batemanallenfuneralhome.com
