Darrel Ann Ostenrieder

Darrel Ann Ostenrieder passed away peacefully in her home, on March 31, 2026, at the age of 70.

She is survived by her loving sisters, Alice Farrell, Emma Orth (Butch), Rose Francis (d. Jimmy), and Georgetta Senat; her cherished nieces, Kim Yackobovitz (d. Eddie), Grace Farrell, Cathy Gibson, Barbara Primavera (Michael), Brenda Gallagher, Bonnie Lassen, and Colleen Clancy (Brian); and her nephews, John Hood, Alfred Ostenrieder, John & Tom Glenn, and Matthew Francis (Sarah). She also leaves behind her great-nieces, April Berger (Gene), Ashley Yackobovitz, Olivia Windfelder, and Sloane Francis; her great-nephews, Adam, Gregory, and Kyle Yackobovitz, Joseph Windfelder, and Brian and Shawn Clancy; along with many great-great nieces and nephews who brought her joy.

Darrel was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and George Ostenrieder; her sister, Lavina “Lynn,” and her brother, Alfred “Sonny.”

Darrel will be remembered for her enormous heart and her unapologetically bold sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. She had a way of lighting up a room just by being herself. Many will fondly remember her sitting at the dining room table with her coloring books and crayons, enjoying her favorite “orange” soda alongside a chocolate cupcake or pudding.

She loved fiercely, found joy in the little things, and never missed a chance to sneak a glass of wine (with April) and take a good selfie. Her presence, laughter, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at 10am on April 10, 2026, with services to follow at 11am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, PA, 19015. Burial private. Online condolences can be sent via www.batemanallenfuneralhome.com
