Bonnie L. Burns

Bonnie L. Burns, age 69, a lifetime resident of Brookhaven, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026 with her beloved dog, Lucie Lee, at her side.

Bonnie enjoyed hosting holiday dinners for the entire family; she was always making our favorite dishes. She was an excellent cook. She also took time to decorate her home throughout the year, especially at Christmas. A fan of flea markets, she found lots of treasures for her home. Bonnie was also a crafter, making beautiful wreaths for family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents Jack and Ethel Burns and her nephew, Eric Varrassi.

She is survived by her sisters, Carol (Anthony) Varrassi and Beverly Erskine. Bonnie loved her nephew Ian Varrassi, his wife Katie, and their son Caden. She loved her niece, Tina Varrassi and her children, Vinny and Giana. Bonnie’s dear friend, Kathy Clark, was thought of as her sister.
